Finding a Volunteering Opportunity

Volunteer Centre Sefton continually updates a database full of over 700 interesting and varied volunteering opportunities available in and around Sefton. You can search available volunteering opportunities now using the Opportunity Search on the right or look at the list of our services below to see if they could be of benefit to you.

Aged 16 - 25?

Find out about how you can get involved in ongoing or one-off volunteering and gain accreditation for it through the vinvolved Youth Volunteering programme.

If you're interested in encouraging and motivating other young people you can become a peer mentor and access accredited training. Find out more about the Innov8 Mentoring Project

If you have specific skills to offer and you cannot find what you are looking for on our database, you can offer your help direct to over 200 organisations in Sefton. We will forward your details to all the organisations registered with us.

Volunteering while on benefits

You can volunteer as many hours as you like while you are on benefits as long as you still meet the terms for getting them.

If you are claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance, this will mean you still need to look for paidwork. You must be free to go to an interview if you are given 48 hours' notice.You must be able to start work within one week of Jobcentre Plus giving you notice.
